pregnancy, my parenting bootcamp

In pregnancy, my parenting bootcamp, the ultrasound was an exciting moment to get the first picture of my baby and finding out I was having a son. Ultrasound done in 1996.

Happy being selfish? Don’t like children? Scared to have whiny or bad bratty children? These were why I didn’t want children but for one week every month my hormones ruled and convinced me otherwise. After years of this hormonal roller coaster I had my first whoops, nine months later my son was born. Pregnancy, my parenting bootcamp, is how I went from being selfishly indifferent to children to researching and preparing for the most important job of my life, raising a family.

For someone who never wanted children, they are my greatest achievement. Nothing honoured me more than when my son asked me to do a blog on parenting, he said I did things right. As hard as I tried, it didn’t take me long to realize parenting isn’t a one post topic. So, I’m beginning where I did, with myself. Do you want to be a great parent?
